RE:EATING ART HISTORY / The Cosmic Egg
See Documentation:
The SensoriuM presents Re:eating Art History / The Cosmic Egg as part of the Humanities Graduate Conference, Re-Originality: Curation, Plagiarism and Cultures of Appropriation at Concordia University.
Description:
Is tradition about repeating old ways or is it about re-inventing the past to make it meaningful for the present? Kicking off the Re-Originality conference, this participatory performance will re-signify "paraskevidekatriaphobia," taking on the fear of Friday the 13th by launching this event in a most unconventional way.
Re:eating Art History / The Cosmic Egg will re-visit three historical art dishes, each made with the goal of removing all colour from the food, while motivated by very different intentions. Participants will experience recipes dating back to medieval times, and designed to engage all the senses. This Friday the 13th, prepare to taste and be enlightened!
With generous support from the Sustainability Action Fund, the Concordia Council on Student Life, and the Centre for Sensory Studies at Concordia University
