CONSUME LOVE is a project of PEACE and ANTI-CONSUMERISM.

Artist and sustainable designer Atom Cianfarani will create a
food cart reminiscent of her Italian ancestors, using a DIY blueprint that she produced and will share with participants. This cart serves as a prop and mobile venue around which participants are invited to engage in alternate forms of consumption. Participants will be led on food scavenging tours with Cianfarani, and then enjoy homemade food re-directed from the waste-stream by way of freeganism.

While America is the largest consumer market on the planet,
anti-consumption has been omitted from the contemporary green movement and replaced with the promotion of “green” consumer items. The
environmental effects of war have also been largely excluded from the
“eco” discussion. Furthermore, more than half of the food grown to
feed us ends up in the dump (organic too!). Our food economy is systematically starving and polluting the world while it attempts to feed us.
Cianfarani creates a social space in which to engage conversation around these issues.

  1. Atom’s freegan tour was an urban foraging adventure at its finest. Peering into alleyway dumpsters and observing the backdoor activity at a number of local green grocers, we speculated on what decedent treats each establishment disposes of at the end of each day. Particularly fun was watching Atom introduce herself as a ‘researcher’ on food waste to a number of shopkeepers, and then inquire as to when an where they dispose of food items not fit for sales, but still quite suitable for human consumption. The walk was entertaining, enlightening, and thought provoking.

  2. Tour is one of the exciting ways to spend time with your family. This tour is only the time when you can plan lots of excitement with your family members. You can also discuss lots of things with them for your further life. Planning is also very easy for the tour.

  3. Almost more than half of the food produced to feed us ends up being dumped. To realize this, Artist and Sustainable Designer Atom Cianfarani will create a reminiscent event wherein participants can have homemade food re-directed from the waste-stream by way of freeganism.
